Saving the environment

If I were in charge I would make people more aware of the effect their actions were having on our planet and the people living on it.

I'm running a campaign called Bring your own Coffee Cup on the Battlefront website (www.battlefront.co.uk). I want to make sure everyone cuts down on their waste by bringing their own mugs or flasks with them when they buy a coffee.

Four-hundred billion cups of coffee are sold every single year worldwide. This means that if everyone brought their own mugs with them to coffee stores, a huge amount of waste would be saved. I also want to make all big coffee chains realise that they must take responsibility for what they are doing, and ensure they bring in an incentive or reward for those who do bring their own mugs with them.

What people do not realise is that coffee cups are non-recyclable, so they go straight to landfill sites. Bringing your own mug means that you could end up saving a lot of waste from ending up in a landfill site, and ultimately help to save the planet. To find out more and to get involved you can visit the website for my campaign: http://battlefront.co.uk/campaign/bring-your-own-coffee-cup
